Guessing here, but I bet ISU has a spot in the PAC
And they can get there sooner and reserve their spot by holding UT and OU's feet to the fire on the extension of the GOR. It's basically like saying, "What, you won't extend the GOR? You're not allowing this conference to have a secure future, so we're looking elsewhere, too."
The B1G won't take ISU with another school already in-state because of their network needs to expand to another state and not dilute the pie.
HeinousOne is a poster on several boards who has not waivered for years on his prediction from his opinion (or possibly from sources?) that ISU, KSU, TCU, and TT are headed to the PAC, Texas to ACC on a partial membership, WVU and OSU to the SEC and OU and KU to the B1G. He's saying that all this drama has been orchestrated by OU and UT to end the conference and the networks are working to place the assets in other conferences in an equitable fashion. He's either correct or spectacularly wrong and we'll probably be finding out soon enough.
Edit: You haven't waivered either with your hints either Stech, so kudos to you. BTW I tried to find the post/article that talked about 2019 being a critical year for the LHN but I haven't found it so far. Will keep looking. [Post edited by ScottyHeel at 07/30/2016 1:06PM]
